Adania Shibli

Adania Shibli is a Palestinian author and essayist, writing across novels, plays, short stories and narrative essays. She has twice received the Qattan Young Writer's Award Palestine, in 2001 and 2003. Her novel Minor Detail, published by Al-Adab in 2017 and in translation in 2020 by Fitzcarraldo Editions, UK, New Directions, USA, and Text Publishing, ANZ, was shortlisted for the National Book Award in 2020 and nominated for the International Booker Prize in 2021. Her latest work, Tamwih, published by Al-Adab in 2025, is forthcoming in English as Delusion in 2027 with A. Knopf, USA, Fitzcarraldo Editions, UK, and Text Publishing, ANZ. Alongside her writing, Shibli is active in academic research and teaching at universities across Europe and at Birzeit University, Palestine from 2012 to 2018, and served as co-curator of the Bergen Assembly 2025 in Bergen, Norway from 2022 to 2025.
