Thammika Songkaeo

Thammika Songkaeo is a transnational novelist, and film producer of Thai origin, and a 2022 National Geographic Explorer. She is the author of Stamford Hospital, nominated for the Chommanard Prize and the Sharjah International Book Fair Awards in 2026. An educator with a degree from the University of Pennsylvania, she has led the sold-out masterclass Writing Fear, Anger, and Sadness at the Auckland Writers Festival, as well as the Voice-First workshop at the Hong Kong International Literary Festival. From 2027, she will serve as National Geographic Expert on Signature Expeditions in the Mekong Region and Japan, guiding travellers through how regional literature reflects urgent environmental realities.
