Honeymoon Garden

Before the Majapahit kingdom transformed the island in the 13th century, Bali had a rich Buddhist-Hindu heritage that continues to shape its identity today. Explore the remnants of ancient Bali through fascinating artifacts, inscriptions, and burial sites that tell the stories of the first kingdoms. On this walk, we’ll uncover the secrets and local legends behind archaeological discoveries such as the sculptures at the Temple of the Crazy Buffalo and Southeast Asia’s largest bronze vessel! This tour will begin with an introduction by Sugi Lanus, who will explain two palm-leaf manuscripts (Lontar) to give a deeper understanding of the experience.

Sites visited on the tour include Pura Penataran Sasih (The Moon Temple), Pura Pusering Jagat, Pura Kebo Edan (Temple of the Crazy Buffalo), and the Archaeology Museum.

The tour will take place in Pejeng Village and includes a Balinese snack and drink. The meeting point will be at Honeymoon Garden, Jalan Bisma, Ubud.
