Through curated archival collections focused on Bali-based publications and the works of Balinese writers and translators, we aim to reimagine Bali and its role within post-Revolutionary Indonesia. BaliAAR and Penerbit Partikular will provide access to selected literature from publications such as Surya Kanta, Bhakti, and Djatajoe, featuring works by various writers. This event will engage the audience in discussions with invited panelists about the social and political landscape of Bali, the role of Balinese writers in redefining what was considered "National Culture," and insights into Bali before the onset of mass tourism. By exploring these themes, the festival seeks to shed light on the often-overlooked contributions of Balinese writers such as Putu Shanty, Made Kirtya, and Ni Ketut Sarini, whose works have helped shape both Balinese and national publications today.
